The following comments and profiles are from students and alumni of the UNE Department of Physical Therapy's Doctor of Physical Therapy and Master of Physical Therapy programs. This program became a  Doctor of Physical Therapy Program with students who entered in fall 2004.

Students and alumni of the Physical Therapy Program like the small classes, the close interaction with faculty and other students, and the variety of experiences of their clinical rotations.

Tina Fennelly, Class of '09 - "The fact that we as students are able to sit with the dean and discuss (and get excited about) plans for the future of the campus really says a lot about the type of environment, and I feel lucky to be a part of it." Profile.

Dustin Hurd, D.P.T. '08 - "I have met wonderful friends and developed respect for the quality instructors. I am able to pursue research in my own area of interest. Most of all, I am confident the combination of coursework at UNE and clinical affiliations away from campus have helped me to be a strong clinician." Profile.

Jennifer Major, D.P.T. '07– “Most of lab is hands-on practice at assessment and healing techniques, which is so tangible and germane to life. It's great to be able to pursue a profession that is intellectual and yet does not require one to sit in front of a computer screen.” Profile.

Emily Malanchuk, D.P.T '08 - "At UNE the campus is not so big you get lost, and close enough to the beach or mountains to make you feel like a part of nature. This is one of the reasons I chose UNE, but the biggest reason was how nice all the people here were, not arrogant or snobbish like some other private colleges. From the professors to the students I always felt welcomed and important. " Profile.

Matthew Somma, Class of '09 - "One thing I find very comforting at UNE is the availability of the professors on campus.  There have been many occasions where you go to the professor’s office hoping for a little extra help and you find the professor in their office with the door open and ready to help.  They are never too busy and are truly there to educate you and help you learn to your highest potential."
