College of Health Professions
Welcome to the College of Health Professions
The College of Health Professions prepares graduates to assume entry and advanced professional positions in the ever-changing health and health care environments.
The College is committed to a model of integrated, interdisciplinary health and healing (I2H2) education, training, research and practice. The College educates students to become professionals and leaders for the development and practice of I2H2 health care.
The students, faculty and staff in the College of Health Professions work as partners to continuously advance health and health care knowledge and skills. The College actively seeks collaborative partnerships, within the University and across the larger New England community, that focus on I2H2 curriculum development, evidenced-based research and evaluation, and the development and implementation of I2H2 practice models.
Health professions students at UNE also benefit from state-of-the-art technology and teaching practices incorporated in the new Clinical Simulation Program, which is a key component of the future Performance Enhancement and Evaluation Center (PEEC), a facility that will be devoted to improving clinical patient evaluation and management skills of health professions students and practitioners.
The College of Health Professions offers associate and bachelor's degrees through its dental hygiene and nursing programs; a bachelor's degree through its health services management program; master's degrees through its nurse anesthesia, occupational therapy, physician assistant, and social work programs; a doctoral degree through its physical therapy program; and graduate certificates in gerontology and addictions counseling.
The College offers programs of study on the University's Biddeford Campus, the Westbrook College Campus in Portland, University of Maine - Presque Isle campus, and three campuses in Israel. These programs offer dynamic educational experiences based on respect for diversity, liberal education, a belief in lifelong learning, a desire to develop leaders for society, and a commitment to advancing the quality of life and the environment.
